ಭಾರತದ ಮೊಟ್ಟಮೊದಲ ಸಮುದಾಯ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಆಗಿ ಅಂದ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ “ಸಂಘಂ ರೇಡಿಯೋ” (ಸಂಘದ ರೇಡಿಯೋ) 90.4 ತರಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 15 ರಂದು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇದು ಇರುವುದು ಅಂದ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮೆದಕ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ, ಜಹೀರಾಬಾದ್ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಪಸ್ತಾಪುರ್ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಮಾಚನೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 30 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರ ಹೋದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬೀದರ್ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಾಚನೂರು ತಲುಪಲು ಅಂದ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಾದ ಹೈದರಾಬಾದ್ ನಿಂದ 3 ಘಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬಸ್ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಅಥವಾ ಬೀದರ್ ನಿಂದ ಬರಬಹುದು. ಈ [...]

ನಮ್ಮಧ್ವನಿ ಸಮುದಾಯ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಕೆಂದ್ರ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 100 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ  ಬೂದಿಕೋಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಬೂದಿಕೋಟೆ ಕೋಲಾರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ಬಂಗಾರಪೇಟೆ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಬೂದಿಕೋಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 2002 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲು ಕಾರಣ ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಅಂದ್ರಪ್ರದೆಶ್ ಮತ್ತು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನ ಗಡಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಿಧ್ಯಾವಂತರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೂಲಿಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು  ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಇದ್ದು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಯುನೆಸ್ಕೋ ಸಹಕಾರದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಧ್ವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಾಯ್ಸಸ್ [...]

ಸಮುದಾಯ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸದು ಆದರೆ ನೇಪಾಳ್, ಶ್ರೀಲಂಕಾ, ಲ್ಯಾಟಿನ್ ಅಮೇರಿಕಾ, ಉತ್ತರ ಅಮೇರಿಕಾ, ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ , ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್, ಆಪ್ರಿಕಾ, ಯುರೋಪ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಚಲಿಥದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ತುಂಬಾ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಸಮುದಾಯ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು 5-6 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ತರಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯಾರೂನು ಸಹ ಸಮುದಾಯ ರೇಡಿಯೋ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಮಾಡಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಮೊದಲು [...]

On 6th of August, good news for community radio enthusiasts! No amount of dirty politics can keep from legitimizing low cost indigenous transmitters from Nomad India. With Development Alternatives getting its license, Nomad India becomes the first home grown transmission solution providers to community radio.

At present, there are less than 30 community radio stations on air, and it seems a bit disappointing especially in the context of government officials proclaiming that there will be 4000 stations up and running within a year, when they released the policy in Nov. 2006.
