Ram is a graduate from the Manipal Institute of Communications (MIC) in IT and Media Studies. Started his career in ethnographic research at a community radio station, called Namma Dhwani, working with media advocacy group called VOICES. Currently engaged in research and advocacy for media policy and spectrum reform, as well as sporadic efforts in community radio – assessment, sustainability, and new aesthetics for content development. He is a member of Community Radio Forum (CRF), as well as World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC). He is also a consultant for UNESCO, Ford Foundation, and Global Partners and Associates.
