Saboot/Evidence is a film on the failure of the Bangalore Metro. It highlights the living and working conditions of migrant workers building the metro, during the Covid 19 lockdown, in Bangalore. As users of the Metro, we demand a public audit and transparency and would like to hold the BMRCL, contractors and other related authorities liable for the violations observed in the film.
This film is made by Yashaswini and Ekta, as part of the Behind the Tin Sheets project, conceived in 2009, to capture stories of workers building the Bangalore Metro. This film is specific to the experiences of workers during the COVID 19 lockdown period, and demands a response from the BMRCL on the reported violations. Yashaswini, recently completed her Artist in Residence Programme at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Netherlands and works with film and sound. Ekta is a co-founder of maraa, a media and arts collective and a filmmaker.
